However, current approaches often narrow their focus to specific aspects of digital work, whether exploring the identities of digital workers, delving into the economic exchanges involved in their activities or concentrating on particular sectors such as gig workers or content creators. As various forms of digital labour become more prevalent and are poised to scale significantly with new technological innovations in the next decade, it becomes imperative to comprehend how future (digital) work is envisioned and understood by both workers and the platforms serving as spaces for digital labour. These visions represent a collective imagining that becomes shared among a group of people and institutionalised over time by various actors, including technological companies, governments, governmental agencies, organisations, and intermediaries. This process normalises ideas and practices surrounding work. Consequently, individuals act and make sense of their actions, as well as their relations with others, through what can be termed as \u2018imaginaries\u2019.
